30 Ways to Fight Hunger in 30 Days
Use Social Media
- Blog /tweet/post on Facebook and other social media sites about Hunger Action Month.
- Find Tarrant Area Food Bank on Facebook and be sure to “like” us. Comment on some postings.
- Change your Facebook status: ‘YOUR NAME’ is fighting domestic hunger during Hunger Action Month. Find out more at www.hungeractionmonth.org.
- Blogger badge: Add the Hunger Action Month badge to your blog!
- Search for “Hunger Action Month” or “Tarrant Area Food Bank” or “Feeding America” on You Tube.
- Post a picture / tag a picture on Facebook to call attention to Hunger Action Month.
- Post upcoming volunteer opportunities on your blog, or write a Facebook note!
Raise Awareness/Advocate
- Send an email to your friends about Hunger Action Month and local events – you can find an email template at www.hungeractionmonth.org
- Go without meals for a day, and reflect throughout your fast on the reality of hunger in America. (Consult your physician before undergoing any fast.)
- Write an article for your community group or club’s newsletter – or send the information as an e-blast to your group! Newsletter/e-blast templates available; ask Tarrant Area Food Bank or visit www.hungeractionmonth.org
- Write a letter to elected officials about hunger (visit www.congress.org for contact information, and www.hungeractionmonth.org for an advocacy letter template).
- Sign up for Tarrant Area Food Bank's newsletter.
- Live a day (or a week) on a food stamp budget. Share your experience on Facebook, Twitter, a blog or OpEd piece.
