FOOD SAFETY TRAINING

ServSafe

ServSafe Essentials and ServSafe Starters™ are food safety training programs of the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation offered to Food Bank Partner Agencies and volunteers.

ServSafe Starters Basic Food Safety program provides basic food handling education and meets the City of Fort Worth's requirements for food handlers.  The 3-hour course covers Personal Hygiene, Cross-contamination, Allergens, Time & Temperature Control, and Cleaning & Sanitation topics. Upon passing the short exam, a certificate of completion is awarded that is valid for 2 years.

Materials available in English or Spanish.

ServSafe Essentials training blends lecture, video and activities in a way that constantly engages the learner with food safety content. This blended learning approach helps students listen, watch, practice, and remember key food safety lessons. This course is offered as a one day workshop. A Food Protection Manager certificate valid for 5 years is awarded after successfully passing the exam, and is recognized by the City of Fort Worth.
