Passengers ride “T” buses free with the donation

of an item of food for the Food Bank.

Close the Book on Hunger

Help address two local problems—hunger and illiteracy—at the same time.  Donate food items at a public library. For three weeks, each participating public library in Tarrant, Denton, Johnson, Hood, Parker, Wise, Palo Pinto, Erath and Somervell counties will place a food collection bin for food items in its lobby.

STAMP OUT HUNGER! National Food Drive

The National Association of Letter Carriers pick up donated

food at customers' mailboxes to help feed children during

the summer.

Orchestras Feeding America Food Drive by Fort Worth Symphony

As part of the national food drive by America's symphony orchestras, concert audiences and the general public are invited to drop-off nonperishable foods for Tarrant Area Food Bank at Bass Performance Hall before the Beethoven's Ninth Symphony Concerts.

Breakfast with the Stars

Parents, grandparents, uncles, aunts and friends are invited to bring children to this colorful children’s festival featuring imaginary and real childhood heroes.  Hosted by Tarrant Area Food Bank in its warehouse, this event benefits the Food Bank’s BackPacks for Kids weekend feeding program. The second annual edition of the event raised enough funds to support two new BackPacks for Kids sites next school year.

Empty Bowls—An Artful Luncheon to Fight Hunger

Hosted by Tarrant Area Food Bank, this noon-time feast of artistic and culinary delights served up savory soups and desserts prepared by Fort Worth area chefs and offered handcrafted and hand-painted bowls donated by professional, recreational and student artisans. For the third consecutive year, admission tickets sold out a week in advance. This eighth annual edition of Empty Bowls raised a record $207,600

Greater Dallas/Fort Worth Food Drive

As Texans stock up for Super Bowls Sunday, Tarrant Area Food Bank and North Texas Food Bank invite football fans to participate in the largest annual Fort Worth/Dallas food drive spearheaded by four major grocery chains. Grocery shoppers can purchase pre-packaged food bags or make a cash donation on their grocery bill. The Souper Bowl of Caring is a nationwide grassroots movement of caring utilizing Super Bowl weekend to mobilize youth to fight hunger and poverty in the local communities.

Gourmet Goodies for Goodness Sake baked by professional chefs of the Texas Chefs Association, Fort Worth Chapter, on sale to benefit both the Chefs Association and Tarrant Area Food Bank's Operation Frontline nutrition education program.

•  Goodies ready for purchase will include cakes, pies, cookies, breads, fruit, muffins, rolls, fudges, candy 

    and more.

•  Cookie decorating will be offered with Young Chefs Academy.

•  Ice Sculpting demonstrations will be given by local chefs.

11th Annual Tarrant County Competition and Show

Sponsored by the Fort Worth Chapters of the Society for

Design Administration and The American Institute of Architects

Teams from architectural and engineering firms use cans and

boxes of food to build sculptures ranging from the realistic to

the whimsical up to eight feet high and 10-feet square. The food is donated to the Food Bank, and the recipients of the awards for Best Meal, Best Use of Labels, Structural Ingenuity, Jurors' Favorite and Honorable Mention submit photos of their structures to the national competition.  See photos of the 2009 competition.
